The Department of Migration announced the opening today, 7 April, of new pilot offices at the provincial government headquarters in 12 cities. The new offices will assist foreigners in legalizing their status in the Dominican Republic and are located in the provincial government offices in San Francisco de Macoris, Salcedo, Puerto Plata, Santiago, La Vega, Moca, Bonao, Cotui, Nagua, Samana, San Pedro de Macoris, La Romana and Hig?ey. The new offices may assist foreigners in presenting paperwork for their provisional residency, final residency, or for temporary work permits. In the past, to apply for residency foreigners had to visit the Migration offices in Santo Domingo.
