Clocks along the US and Canadian Eastern Seaboard were set ahead an hour on Saturday night. Every year, Daylight Saving Time begins for this time zone at 2 am on the first Sunday of April. Time reverts to standard time at 2 am on the last Sunday of October.
The change in time will facilitate travel for many. The time in the Dominican Republic is now the same as in the US and Canadian Eastern Seaboard. That is, it is the same time in New York and Ottawa, as in Santo Domingo or Punta Cana.
