As of tomorrow, Saturday 3 May, a gallon of premium gas will go down by RD$2.02 to RD$49.17. Regular gas will be sold at RD$43.08 (a fall of RD$1.80) and the price of diesel fuel will be reduced by RD$0.83 to RD$28.34. These changes were announced yesterday by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and will remain stable until the following Saturday, 10 May. Household gas will cost RD$0.57 less per gallon, so that a 100-pound canister will sell for RD$520.65. The government has not paid the subsidy on household gas for eight weeks now because the market price has not exceeded RD$25 per gallon.
