Orlando Gil on the PPT document

Political analyst of the Listin Diario, Orlando Gil focuses today on the Power Point document those attending the press conference of Central Bank Governor Jose Lois Malkum at the Presidential Palace received that evening. The document, with ample details on the Baninter scandal, has been circulating widely by email. ?Nobody has asked why this document, distributed by the authorities at the Presidential Palace prior to the press conference, does not cite any official source or is it signed by any person of the government,? says Gil. [DR1 carried the document in its 22 May news? see the news archives at

Gil speculates that the government could at any time refute the contents of the document in the near future. He mentions a similar case when the Central Bank disputed a statement that appeared in the press several weeks after it was carried in the Listin Diario.
Gil comments that the person who advised the government to open up the Baninter case to the general public is a genius in manipulation, as this has succeeded in restoring credibility to the government. He highlights that the Power Point document that is circulating has captured the morbosity of the general public who would like to know more names of those involved in the Baninter embezzlement scandal.
