Trujillo bestseller

The bestselling novel and most talked about book in the Dominican Republic today is ?Trujillo, visto por un siquiatra?, a biography of former Dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo from a psychological viewpoint.
Dr. Jos? Miguel G?mez, who is the director of the governmental Padre Billini Psychiatry Hospital, explains that Trujillo was not a lunatic, nor a psychopath. He describes him instead as an intelligent, cunning manipulator, a cold person and a social paranoiac.
The book focuses on the psyche of the man that dominated the Dominican Republic for 31 years, exposing the psychosocial and behavioral motivations behind the legacy of corruption he left Dominicans. ?He was a person who could be your friend today, and tomorrow order your assassination,? he explains, as reported in Hoy newspaper. The book also focuses on the machismo and womanizing that Trujillo was famous for and his unrestrained sexual antics.
