President Hip?lito Mej?a has expressed his willingness to take part in a high-level summit of political, religious, business and civil society leaders, as was suggested by PLD leader Leonel Fern?ndez last week. However, the President told reporters that this was not necessarily because of Fern?ndez? admonishments, but because he saw it as necessary. He cited the ongoing national dialogue process headed by Monsignor Agripino N??ez Collado that began late last year as further evidence of his propensity for communication between the various sectors of the country.
The President travels to Puerto Rico today for a two-day visit, thereby marking his 35th international trip.
