President Hip?lito Mej?a officiated the inauguration ceremonies in Andr?s, Boca Chica yesterday, where the AES group opened their new generation and liquefied natural gas storage facility. According to AES, their investment was in the order of US$400 million to build the natural gas import terminal, re-gasification facility, pipeline and 300 MW dual fuel-fired (natural gas and No. 2 oil) combined cycle power plant. Julian Nebreda, local manager for AES, said that the combined-cycle generator would promote less dependency on oil imports and permit access to different markets for the natural gas.
