German embassy prepares move

The German embassy says that it will soon move to new offices in the Torre Piantini building at Abraham Lincoln and Gustavo Mej?a Ricart Avenue. The embassy has outgrown its present accommodations at Plaza Intercaribe on Lope de Vega Avenue and will relocate to occupy the 16th, 17th and 18th floors at its new address. The German ambassador, Eva Countess Alexandra Kendeffy, said that the embassy has doubled its staff to attend the demands of Dominican businesspeople, German and Dominican travelers and the 25,000 German residents in the country. As reported in Hoy newspaper, the ambassador said the move would serve to provide better services. She highlighted the new developments in housing, environmental protection and natural resources and said that three leading German cooperation agencies have been active in the country for the past 20 years. GTZ, DED and KFW maintain more than 40 technicians working primarily with rural communities.
