Thirty-one business groups gave their full support to the statements made by the president of the National Council of Business (CONEP) during the most recent American Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Elena Viyella had called for the resignation of Mej?a cabinet ministers that were campaigning for President Mej?a?s re-election or themselves aspired to the presidency. In a published statement, the business groups say that the talk rendered by Viyella represents the position of the business groups. They insisted that the government show respect and tolerance. President Mej?a called the statement by Viyella ?nonsense.?
