Power & bread price increases

Hoy newspaper reports that the Superintendence of Power has announced a 5% hike in the cost of electricity. The Superintendence says that the price should have gone up 11.40%, as it is indexed to the cost of fuel and the dollar. The cost of power for those who consume less than 300 kilowatts per month will remain the same.
Meanwhile, bakers announced that bread will go up from RD$2 to RD$3 per unit and the Diario Libre reports that Pan Pep?n store bakeries have closed. Pan Pep?n announced however that they would continue to distribute their brands to supermarkets and stores.
