A toy costing a mere RD$40 that made for hours of playtime for children; it was too good to be true.
El Nacional newspaper now reports that the popular yo-yo being sold on street corners and in stores is toxic and dangerous to children. The newspaper says that the Yo-Yo Water Ball has been known to poison and choke young children and is very flammable. According to reports in the US press, the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation wants parents to understand the immediate dangers of this toy and urges the US Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall the toy.
There have been no incidents reported in the Dominican Republic.
