The Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center in Santo Domingo will be handed over on the 15th of this month, according to Sports Minister C?sar Cede?o. The complex is the central location for the staging of the Pan American Games, due to be launched at the main stadium on 1 August. The extensive works carried out to modernize the complex include an overhaul of the stadium and the velodrome, an expansion of the aquatics center and volleyball courts, and various other installations. The minister announced that an extensive cleanup of the site was now under way.
