Still no replacement for elections boss

El Caribe reports that the Senate has not been able to come to a consensus regarding the substitute for Manuel Ram?n Morel Cerda, the former chief of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), although it did accept the resignation of the JCE?s former chief magistrate. According to the report in the El Caribe, there are some internal politics going on, as the indecision over choosing Luis Arias N??ez, the current head of the Litigation Chamber of the Electoral Board, or Ram?n Hern?ndez Dom?nguez, the current Director of Elections, as the board?s new boss appears to be entangled in an internal struggle for the presidency of the Senate. Senator Jes?s V?squez Mart?nez has made known his desire to become the next president of the Senate, but his people have not been able to meet with current president Andr?s Baustista to discuss this possibility. As a result, the PRD block of senators has not come to a decision as to the next JCE chairman. The current substitute for Morel Cerda, Luis Mera ?lvarez, continues to work at the JCE while awaiting the definitive answer of the Senate. One of the proposals is to give Mera ?lvarez a full seat on the board.
