Hamlet Paul?s Montolio, who was being held in relation to the hacking of the List?n Diario newspaper?s website, has been released without bail. While Paul?s Montolio is maintaining his innocence, according to authorities the connection to the site was made from Montolio?s phone. The online version of the newspaper is once again online, following an absence of nearly three weeks. The Senate justice committee?s report is proposing that people who use the electronic media to insult or defame should face up to four year?s imprisonment and a fine equal to the value of four and a half times the minimum wage, according to Hoy newspaper. It also recommends lesser penalties for other offences perpetrated via electronic media.
