El Caribe reports that Codetel, the leader in Dominican telecommunications, is sponsoring the press center of the Pan Am Games to begin on 1 August. The media hub will be located at the Liceo Union Panamericana, about 10 minutes from the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center and a short walk from the offices of the Pan Am Games at Leopoldo Navarro. The press center will have 250 cubicles for accredited press members, 40 computer stations, and 60 ports for those with their own laptops. The center will also offer data, voice and video services, including giant TV screens so that reporters may follow the principal events. In addition, Codetel announced that smaller telephone facilities would be set on the sites of the venues.
