Now in its fourth year, the awards ceremony will take the stage on 3 September 2003 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
The Latin Grammy Awards structure includes 41 categories, including four general areas: Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best New Artist. Latin Grammy fields include: Pop, Rap/Hip-Hop, Rock, Tropical, Regional Mexican,
Traditional, Jazz, Brazilian, Children’s, Classical, Production and Music Video.
The Latin Grammy Awards recognize artistic and/or technical achievement, not sales figures or chart positions, and the winners are determined by the votes of their peers, the qualified voting members of the Academy.
The Academy?s members are industry professionals with creative or technical credits on six commercially released tracks (or their equivalent), where the recording is in Spanish or Portuguese and commercially released in a Latin country or North
America, or who have participated in similar fashion on a commercially released album, 51% of which is in Spanish or Portuguese.
