The List?n Diario reports that the EGE-Haina power generating facility has placed an embargo on the accounts of EDE-Este, the power distributor for the eastern portion of the country and many parts of Santo Domingo. In its press
release, EGE-Haina said they are suing for twice the amount owed, or RD$939 million. Twenty-six unpaid bills from the EGE facility to EDE-Este support the embargo. The general manager of EGE-Haina said that the ?debt is no longer manageable? and that
the embargo was placed to preserve EGE-Haina?s invoices with EDE-Este.
