Environment Dept. vs. intelligence service military

Two officers of the Intelligence Service of the Army (G2) were accused before the governmental Department for Prevention of Corruption of taking possession of wood confiscated by the Ministry of Environment on 21 July in a
furniture workshop in San Francisco de Macoris. Colonel Elpidio Hernandez, commander of the G2, and First Lieutenant Ezequiel Flori?n were charged with abuse of confidence and for making use of the evidence of a crime, among other charges. The case,
as pleaded by Jose A. Trinidad de Sena, attorney general of the Ministry of Environment, states that the accused irregularly disposed of the wood and refused to bring it before the trial that was investigating furniture-maker Carlos Cotorreal for
illegal cutting of wood.
