While the whole nation knows that there is an energy deficit, the CDEEE announced it had re-integrated 250 megawatts back into the system, leaving the deficit at around 500 megawatts. CDEEE officials report that the former Union Fenosa units at Palamara and La Vega are producing at full capacity and the Seaboard unit that had been producing 30 MW has now increased production to 107.3 megawatts. Cogentrix, currently embroiled in a dispute with the government that has rendered it idle for more than a year, is contributing just 65 megawatts of its 300 MW capacity. The report by Breydg A. Disla says that Smith-Enron is producing 108 megawatts under a rationing of fuel, but is expected to increase production after having reached an agreement with the government. Things look bleak for next week, as EGE-Haina has announced that the Sultana del Este will be shut down due to lack of fuel next Thursday, and AES-Andres has not produced since last Sunday.
