All but 2 of the 15 Supreme Court judges have come out publicly behind Chief Justice Jorge Subero Isa, who has been in the media’s spotlight since he revealed that he had been under pressure from unnamed sources to resign his post last week. The 13 judges signed a letter of support, addressed to the chief justice, in which they ask him to resist the pressure and remain in his post. As reported in DR1 news yesterday, Subero Isa made the confidence of his peers a condition of his remaining in office. He was supported by Eglys Margarita Esmurdoc, Margarita A. Tavares, Jose Enrique Hernandez Machado, Hugo Alvarez Valencia, Victor Jose Castellanos, Dulce Maria Rodriguez de Goris, Julio Anibal Suarez, Enilda Reyes Perez, Dario Fernandez, Pedro Romero Confesor, Juan Luperon Vasquez, Julio Ibarra Rios and Edgar Hernandez Mejia. The two judges who did not sign the letter are Ana Rosa Berges Dreyfous and Rafael Luciano Pichardo.
