The state electricity company (CDEEE) announced it would soon call an international tender for the development of a fiber-optic network, using the structure of the power transmission network of the country. As reported in Hoy newspaper, the CDEEE announced it has concluded the preliminary feasibility studies for the installation of fiber-optic cables. Engineer Martin Robles, as vice-president of the Empresa de Transmision Electrica Dominicana, a division of the CDEEE, announced that the studies were conducted by Kema Consulting, whose executives Mark Burke and David Delgado were present during the announcement.
