Judge Modesto Matias del Rosario of the First Instance Court of the National District ordered the temporary suspension of the airport commission?s Resolution 6418, imposed on 5 February to close all international operations at Herrera International Airport. This is the second time a court order has rejected the suspension of the international flights. Diario Libre reports that as a result of the order, the Civil Aviation Board issued a note for the airport to resume its international operations. Likewise, migration inspectors returned to their posts at the airport yesterday. The court order issued by Judge Matias had established that if his ruling was not adhered to, the president of the airport commission and director of the CAB would have to pay RD$10,000 daily in fines.
