The National Symphony Orchestra has announced outdoor concerts featuring music from the United States, Vienna, Austria and various Latin American countries. The first concert is slated for Friday, 16 April and will delight audiences with music from the US. The setting is the Plaza de Espana in front of the Columbus Alcazar in Colonial Santo Domingo as of 8pm. Alvaro Manzano will conduct the orchestra. Next, on Friday, 30 April, Carlos Piantini will conduct the orchestra for a performance at the gardens of the National Theater with music by Austrian composers. The third concert, to close the spring season, is scheduled for 25 June, returning to Plaza de Espana. This final concert will be conducted by Dante Cucurullo and will feature ?melodies from our Americas,? with music by Luis Alberti, Antonio Lora, and Rafael Landestoy, among others.
