Juan Felipe Mendoza, the vice-president of the renamed Bancredito bank (now Banco Leon under new ownership), visited Judge Anisska Serra de la Mota yesterday at 7:45am, and remained until 3pm at the court for questioning, after which he was free to leave. Mendoza had declined previous requests for him to appear for investigational purposes and did not visit the judiciary until the judge issued an order for his arrest. Mendoza is accused of participation in a RD$20-billion bank fraud. An arrest warrant was also issued for Bancredito?s president, Manuel Arturo Pellerano, who is currently abroad. The Listin Diario also reported that the judge also heard the explanations of Central Bank Governor Jose Lois Malkun and Banking Superintendent Julio Cross.
