Key PRSC party members expelled

The PRSC Executive Committee voted to expel several party leaders for not supporting the PRSC?s candidate, Eduardo Estrella. Jacinto Peynado, Carlos Morales Troncoso, Donald Reid Cabral and Fausto Madera were accused of denigrating the legitimate aspirations of the party?s official candidate with their support of PLD candidate Leonel Fernandez. The board sent nine others to disciplinary court, including Leonardo Matos Berrido and Aristides Fernandez Zucco, two other party leaders who had key participation in securing the PRSC faction support for the PLD Presidential candidate. These men are no longer allowed to attend any national or local meetings of the party, nor are they allowed to stand for public office as representatives of the party in the elections of 2006 or 2008.

One of the meeting?s participants, as quoted in Listin Diario, said that the acts of these gentlemen have been aimed at impairing the PRSC?s legitimate Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates, by plotting and conspiring against them.

The PRSC Executive Committee resolution is signed by Rafael Bello Andino, Johnny Jones and Rogelio Genao.
