Chile & DR sign cooperation treaty

The foreign ministers of Chile and the Dominican Republic signed commercial and social treaties in Chile, yesterday. Foreign Minister Francisco Guerrero Prats traveled to the South American country to officialize an agreement that seeks to stimulate trade and cooperation between the two countries. A Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Chile (Direcon-ProChile) and the Ministry of Foreign Relations and the Center for the Epxports and Investments (CEI) was signed.

Chilean Foreign Minister Maria Soledad Alvear decorated her Dominican colleague with the her nation?s order of merit. Alvear said that to promote cooperation in development and commercial exchange is an important bridge to improving commercial and economic relations between Chile and the Dominican Republic. Guerrero Prats visited Chile on the invitation of the Chilean foreign minister, who during the visit thanked the Dominican government for its support of the Chilean diplomatic mission in Port-au-Prince at the time of the Haitian uprising.
