With 20 days to go before the election, President Hipolito Mejia has appointed new government officers. Decree 340-04 named Natacha Antonieta Degaudenzi Cabral as director of the Fondo de Promocion a las Iniciativas Comunitarias (Procomunidad) to replace Ana Maria Acevedo, a leading Hipolito Mejia campaign activist.
President Mejia also appointed Jesus Maria Frias Andujar as Deputy Minister of Sports by Decree 318-04.
