Take your umbrella with you to vote on Sunday, 16 May, as the weather forecast for that day is for rain. The National Weather Department said the rains that have been falling in Santo Domingo since Wednesday will continue until Monday, 17 May. This precipitation is affecting most of the island, from Barahona to Puerto Plata to Santiago and Barahona, as reported in Diario Libre. The showers have not dampened the spirits, however, of politically-minded Dominicans. Turnouts at both the PRD (Wednesday) and PLD (Thursday) campaign closing events were enormous. The same is expected for today?s 14 May PRSC final campaign event at Maximo Gomez and 27 de Febrero Avenues.
