Light rains through Wednesday

The National Weather Department predicts that the rains will continue at least through Wednesday. Their report indicates that a low-pressure system located in front of the southern coast of Haiti and a tropical wave have interacted with a large tropical wave that is moving over the Mona Channel between the DR and Puerto Rico. ?These phenomena have generated clouds and moderate to strong rainfalls, with some winds nationwide,? says the weather report. While the Weather Department expects the rains in the next two days to be light, it is maintaining its flooding alert.

Yesterday, despite the high level of humidity, rain only fell for a few minutes in the capital city. Today in Santo Domingo, the humidity and cloudiness continue, but as of noontime, no rains had fallen.
