El Caribe reported on the dangerous driving conditions on the roads and avenues of Santo Domingo, specifically the potholes. On the Nunez de Caceres avenue there are serious cracks in the cover of the drainage system in the tunnel. On Las Americas avenue, there has not been one light in the tunnel for over three months now, due to the electric cable having been stolen. On the Kennedy overpass, prohibited trucks have caused damage to the pavement and some of the signage. In the tunnel on 27 of Febuary, none of the extractors are working and the carbon monoxide levels are dangerously high. The 56 extractors that serve the tunnel are all damaged and the new ones have yet to be installed. There are over 100 burned out or broken lights in the tunnel and the cost of each one is set at RD$3,000. Between the tunnel on the Nunez de Caceres and the 27 of February there are 188 lights that need fixing.
