Supreme Court judges to stay

President Mejia said yesterday he will not convene the National Council of Magistrates, the body that appoints the Supreme Court justices, as has been rumored. The unofficial word was that the council would be convened by the PPH-PRD majority Senate to replace judges of retirement age with judges who are more compliant to the outgoing PPH-PRD government party?s wishes. Even Supreme Court of Justice head Jorge Subero Isa had expressed his concern over the rumors.
