Leonel Fernandez arrived yesterday in Madrid, Spain, the second country on his July European tour. While there, his itinerary includes a meeting with Spanish President Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and the King and Queen of Spain, according to a press release. The DR?s President-elect has also scheduled a meeting with the Comision Espanola de Organizaciones Empresariales, which joins Spanish businesspeople. On his agenda are also other meetings with Esperanza Aguirre, the president of the Community of Madrid, the Sanchez hotel group, Ferrovial, Ibadesa, Union Fenosa, Dragados and Equinsa. Fernandez also plans to meet with the Fundacion Oretega y Gasset, and businesspeople in Valencia, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Bilbao.
This European excursion marks Fernandez?s third trip abroad after winning the DR?s Presidential election on 16 May. Since that date, President-elect Fernandez has traveled to the United States and has also visited several countries in South America.
