DR passes to Centrobasket finals

The Dominican Republic secured its entry to the 2005 Americas Basketball Tournament ? a qualifying event for the 2006 World Basketball Championships ? last night at the Palacio de los Deportes. Team captain Jack Michael Martinez scored 20 points and 11 rebounds in the win, and the DR defeated Barbados 82-55. Other countries that qualified for the semi-finals of Centrobasket 2004 were Puerto Rico, Panama and Mexico. Puerto Rico, the favorite to win the championship and the winning country of the past two Centrobasket championships, defeated Cuba 93-61.

Tickets to the games are RD$350/RD$100 to the finals (three games).
