Reformistas reject Bello resignation

The Executive Commission of the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC) rejected the resignation of Rafael Bello Andino from the presidency of that organization. During a meeting held yesterday to review Bello Andino?s actions, 17 of the 31 members present voted not to accept his resignation. Bello Andino left the door open to remain at his post, reported El Caribe newspaper. ?My decision to tender my resignation is because it has been many years – 46 years at the side of President Balaguer and now two years more. I aspire to retire gradually. It is not because of pressure. I am tired and the party is not the same. It has lots of effervescence,? he said. Hoy newspaper reported Hector Rodriguez and Angel Lockward party members say that those voted against the resignation of Bello Andino did so because they oppose that Federico (Quique) Antun Balle be appointed party president.
