Back in April, DR1 News reported that the Dominican Republic would hand over 15 of its citizens for extradition to the United States under the existing agreements between the two countries. This was on 11 April. The largest group ever to be extradited is still being held in a special cell in the Najayo Prison. Even though three months have passed since the declarations made by the Attorney General were published, the 15 are still here because the President has not signed the decree to authorize their removal to the US for trial. Agents from the FBI and the DEA have tried to get the government to hand over the prisoners, but have been unsuccessful.
