President Leonel Fernandez appointed Hans Dannenberg, the former director of the Puerto Plata hotel association, as deputy minister of tourism (Decree 916-04). While the Toursim Ministry was under Subervi, Dannenberg assisted with marketing matters. He is now entrusted with touristic issues dealing with the south central region, that is ranging from Boca Chica to Azua and which includes the city of Santo Domingo.
