District Attorney Jose Manuel Hernandez Peguero confirmed his office is questioning the three that piloted the two Colibri helicopters, property of former army captain Quirino Paulino Castillo to determine where they flew to, who they transported and the destination of the flights. Hernandez Peguero told Hoy newspaper that the information that he has is that Quirino Paulino purchased these from former Colonel Pedro Julio (Pepe) Goico, at the time advance security chief for former President Hipolito Mejia. Listin Diario reporter Ramon Benzan had reported earlier that the excess of cash Quirino Paulino handled enabled him to purchase a first helicopter from Goico, that he later sold to purchase another for US$1.7 million. Hernandez Peguero said that a military son of Quirino Paulino flew another similar helicopter. The helicopters have been confiscated.
