Four more overpasses on JFK Ave.

The Ministry of Public Works has begun the surveys needed to install four huge overpasses over John F. Kennedy Avenue in Santo Domingo. The four overpasses will be located at the intersections of Defillo, Nunez de Caceres, Manoguayabo and the intersection that leads to Los Alcarrizos. These mega-projects are a continuation of those undertaken by the former Fernandez administration on the eastern side of the expressway. Engineering company Geoconsult is drilling 100 meter-deep test holes along the planned path of the project. The budget was not released. Each overpass is expected to cost, unofficially, between RD$85 and RD$90 million, based on the cost of the last overpass, which was built at the intersection with Ortega y Gasset Avenue, near the Olympic Center.
