The Dominican Medical College (CMD) announced that they have submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Public Health whereby physicians would be paid RD$400 for every patient they see, RD$3,000 per birth and RD$10,000 per surgery. He said that at present, physicians average less than RD$20 to see a patient, and RD$200 per birth. Waldo Ariel Suero, president of the CMD union said that under those terms the union would consider physicians getting paid for productivity.
