Three Dominican workers were killed and a fourth is very seriously injured after an explosion at an acetylene bottling facility in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Pablo Morillo, Ino Perez and German Gonzalez were killed by metal shards from the explosion, and Giovanny Pena Gomez is in critical condition at the New Brunswick Hospital. The explosion occurred when acetylene was being transferred from a tank truck to smaller container. Workers at a nearby factory thought at first that the explosion was a terrorist attack, but quickly realized that it was the acetylene facility. The Fire Chief for Perth Amboy, Latty Cattano, said that there had been a leak in one of the hoses that the men were using.
