Fresh from their victory in Sunday night’s game against the Tigres del Licey, Dominican baseball champions Aguilas Cibaenas begin their bid for Caribbean Series title in Mazatlan, Mexico this evening. Victory in this tournament would mean a 16th title for the Dominican Republic, and a fifth for the Aguilas themselves. Tonight’s game is against the Puerto Rican team, Los Indios de Mayaguez. President Leonel Fernandez met with the winning team yesterday and wished them well in their quest. “We’re going to win again, the Aguilas are going to keep the Dominican flag flying high”, said the President, referring to the three Caribbean Series titles won by Dominican teams during the period of the first Fernandez administration (1996 ? 2000).
