Central Bank sold US$36.04 million

The Central Bank accepted bids for US$36.04 million dollars in certificates at an average interest rate of 10.61%. The bank rejected bids for another US$28 million. In total, the bank had offered as much as US$100 million in certificates, but it received purchase offers of just 56.3% of the total. The bank rejected bids that were asking for too much interest. The IMF has agreed that the Central Bank can offer a total of US$225 million in dollar deposit certificates for terms ranging from 18 months to three years.
