Participacion Ciudadana, the leading Dominican civic society group that has been vocal in combating corruption at a local level, announced their partnership with Transparency International (TI). Transparency International is a non- governmental organization based in Berlin, Germany. TI is regarded as the leading global non-governmental organization devoted to combating corruption. Its mission is to create change towards a world that is free of corruption. General coordinator Luis Scheker signed the agreement for Participacion Ciudadana. The agreement calls for the permanent presence of TI in the DR through its representative here, Participacion Ciudadana.
