The Dominican Republic will have a 300 square meter pavilion at the Aichi World Fair that opens on 25 March and lasts until 25 September. This year, the world fair is dedicated to environmental issues. Aichi is best known as the hometown of Toyota automobile manufacturing. The Dominican stand will promote the country’s culture, environment and historical heritage, as well as tourism and business opportunities. On 25 May, several cultural events about the Dominican Republic are scheduled for the fair. The Foreign Relations, Environment and Culture ministries, in addition to the National Competitiveness Council, are coordinating the Dominican participation.
