Metro shouldn’t be a priority

Jose Antonio Najri, vice president of one of the PRD factions, told Listin Diario that the metro should not be a national priority. He said that the Dominican government needs to confront the power crisis instead, the neglect of the hospitals and the problems affecting public schoolchildren. He said that the country urgently needs maintenance work on existing mega-projects, such as the decaying Pan American Games facilities. “Without wanting to offend anyone, the Metro is like the Pan American Games, an idea that the country is not in any condition to carry out because to do so would be a serious error, an error Dominicans will have to pay for”, said Najri, a former PRD senator for Santo Domingo, who has been a car importer for years.
