Runner Carlos Johelin Santa, a member of the Dominican Olympic team, reaffirmed his class yesterday when he won the 400 meter sprint at the Athens Indoor Grand Prix. Santa, now based in Spain, will participate in the European track season this year. His indoor time of 46:43 was enough to win his event on a different kind of track than he is used to. Normally an outdoor runner, Santa had to make two trips around the 200-meter indoor track in Athens. Last year in Spain, Santa won the 400-meter event at the Ibero-American Championships at 45.05, his personal best. In Athens, James Davis from the USA was second and Chris Lloy, from Dominica was third.
