The biannual Santo Domingo Musical Festival opens 9 March at the National Theater. This year?s 10 days of presentations are dedicated to Spain. On the program are performances by mezzosoprano Tereza Berganza; soprano Elena de la Merced, tenor Israel Lozano, baritone Josep-Miquel Ramon, singer-composer Esperanza Fernandez, violinist Dan Zhu, guitarrist Jose Maria Gallardo del Rey, the Antonio Marquez company, the director of the Orquesta Virginia Martinez, Catalan orchestra Cadaques, and the orchestra of the Festival. The festival is produced by French music conductor Philippe Entremont, who is the director of the Chamber Orchestra of Viena. Tickets are already for sale at the National Theater.
