The Miller Grand-Am Cup will be held on the outskirts of Santo Domingo this coming 12-13 March. Speed racers from the United States, Canada, Europe and some Dominicans will participate. 20 teams and 35 cars, and some 100 drivers are expected. This is part of the 2005 circuit that races in the United States. The event is sponsored by Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana, distributor of Miller beer in the DR. The GS competition is a track of 250 miles and three hours duration, with Grand Sport vehicles with motors of 400 and 450 horse power. Vehicles competing will be BMW M3, Ford Mustang, Cadillac, Pontiac Firebird, GTO, Porsche 996 and Nissan 350Z. Event will take place at the Las Americas Race Track that has normal capacity for 4,000 persons. The track’s capacity will be increased to 15,000 for the event. The event is organized by the Grand American Road Racing Association.
