President Leonel Fernandez was scheduled to arrive this morning to Madrid for the final stretch of his 10-day trip abroad that has taken him to Chicago, New York City and Boston in the United States. He is traveling with his wife, Margarita Cedeno and minister sans portfolio in charge of Dominicans abroad affairs, architect Eduardo Selman.
He is in Madrid to participate in the International Summit on Democracy, Terrorism and Security, set for 8-11 March. See http://english.safe-democracy.org/
Hoy newspaper reported that Sports Minister Jay Payano and congressman Pelegrin Castillo will also be participating in the summit on behalf of the Dominican government.
