The PRD party is asking the current administration to publish the audits that supposedly will shake up the entire country. The story by the Hoy newspaper carries statements by high-ranking PRD officers that say that the PLD administration would be acting as an accomplice of alleged corruption if it does not make available the results of the audit and does not present cases against those responsible for irregularities to the Justice Department. PRD president Vicente Sanchez Baret and general secretary, Rafael Subervi Bonilla along with Eligio Jaquez, were referring to the statements made by Secretary of the Presidency Danilo Medina who inferred that the release of the audits would produce such a scandal that the administration would be accused of political persecution. Sanchez Baret told reporters that now Medina is obliged to release the results of the audits since the country is waiting to hear the news that will supposedly cause a quake.

Eligio Jaquez pointed out that no member of the PRD has expressed any opposition to the release of the data, and that at the same time, the government would also release the results of the audits and files regarding the contract with AES Dominicana, the PEME (the program to provide jobs for young people in the barrios), the reconstruction efforts after Hurricane Georges and the banking fraud. Jaquez said that nothing will shake the country more than the file on the banking fraud related to the failure of three important financial entities, including Baninter.
